This Web Page was created because of my extreme distaste for AOL and its built-in deficiencies. I've had an AOL account, and have experienced their pathetic service, firsthand. I still have to deal with their inadequecies as I have friends with AOL accounts and have so far been unable to get them to switch to an ISP. Someday, they'll wake up and smell the bullshit, and cancel their AOL accounts out of disgust and frustration. In the meantime, they will have to put up with limited Internet access, the slowest Web browser available, online censorship, spammed mailboxes, sales pitches from company employees, poor tech support, overbilling, and very limited file transfer capabilities through e-mail, just to name a few of AOL's pitfalls.
The sheer number of anti-AOL articles and graphics that have been created over the last several years should give you a realistic view of just how bad AOL sucks. This material didn't emerge by accident. People had to be genuinely pissed-off to create these graphics and text files, and post them on the Web, or in the Usenet newsgroups. The images and text files found here have been collected from various newsgroups, and other anti-AOL web sites.
My intent is to supply evidence that AOL, indeed, sucks and take a humorous poke at their service, or should I say the lack of it. If you are currently using AOL, you are missing a major portion of the World Wide Web. AOL's browser will refuse to whisk you away to many of the sites on the web. The same holds true for access to many of the newsgroups, on Usenet. How can they possibly claim "AOL is the Internet"? They haven't got a friggin' clue to what the Internet is--they've never been able to explore it with their antiquated, pathetic excuse for a browser.
I tried connecting to my site using a friend's computer, and his AOL account. It just choked on the URL, and went nowhere. If you were lucky enough to get here through AOL, you probably noticed that their browser doesn't support Java, and would not load the applets found on my pages. I hope that the images and information shown on the following pages will open your eyes to the fact that the service just plain sucks.
Hopefully, what you'll find here will help you make an intelligent decision on selecting an Internet Service Provider. If you're already using a regular ISP, you've probably either scrapped your AOL account, or had enough sense to avoid them, altogether. If you're here just to look around, and find some cheap entertainment, enjoy your stay, and feel free to download the graphics and textfiles for your own use.
